Gilbert King has written for many newspapers and magazines including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Playboy.  His book, The Execution of Willie Francis: Race, Murder and the Search for Justice in the American South, was published by Basic Civitas Books in 2008.  He is also a photographer whose work has appeared in many U.S. magazines including Glamour, Jane, and New York Magazine, as well as international editions of Vogue, Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan.   He lives in New York City.
